RTLC presents the results of the study titled "The Sugd Oblast Free Economic Zone – Concept for the Establishment of a Transport and Logistics Center in the Fergana Valley."

In order to develop the capacity of Sugd oblast as a major commercial and industrial center of Central Asia, there was created a free economic zone (FEZ) - Sugd. One of the Sugd FEZ's main priorities is to create favorable conditions for the development of interregional trade by providing tax and customs privileges, as well as support to the economic relations between enterprises at a regional level.

 

The establishment of a transport and logistics center (TLC) in the FEZ is one of the main tasks, given the strategic location of Khujand at the crossroads of the largest rail and road corridors in the Fergana Valley.

 

The purpose of the study was to examine the role of the proposed transport and logistics center in the development of regional trade and the preparation of a feasibility study for its creation.
